So-Kyokushin Australia is pleased to invite you to our 2026 National Full Contact Tournament, to be held on Sunday 23 August 2026 at King George V (KGV) Recreation Centre, 15 Cumberland Street, The Rocks, Sydney NSW 2000.
We appreciate your participation in the spirit of cooperation and in providing the best possible opportunity for competitors to test their skills in strong and fair competition.
This year’s tournament will be held at a new venue in central Sydney, which will provide increased accommodation options for interstate competitors and improved convenience for competitors, officials and supporters. Public parking is also available nearby, including parking in the Clocktower Car Park, 55 Harrington Street, The Rocks, and Quay West Car Park, 111 Harrington Street, The Rocks.
The tournament will commence at 10.00am sharp and conclude at 4.00pm. Full Contact Competitors in Colts and above may enter as late as 12.00pm.
Competition Categories
Competition categories will include:
- Kata (Kyokushin)
- Padded Contact – Kids 6 to 10 years
- Full Contact Kids 11 to 15 years
- Full Contact Colts – 16 & 17 years
- Full Contact Adults 18 years and above
- Full Contact Masters / Veterans
Weigh-In & Referee Briefing
The official weigh-in will be conducted the day before, on 22 August at KKC Karate Dojo, 4pm to 6pm (422 Lyons Rd, Five Dock — parking at front and rear of building).
We encourage and appreciate other organisations to provide referees. A referee briefing will also be held at KKC Karate Five Dock on Saturday 22 August 2026 from 4pm to 6pm.
Registration & Tournament Program
The tournament flyer is attached above, and it includes a link to all registration, rules, and tournament details. This year will be the first year we produce a Tournament program. As you can appreciate, this involves a lot of work and timing challenges. Can I please ask you to ensure your members enter early with accurate information. We will contact competitors individually to ask for a photo and stats. To be included in the program, competitors will need to have their information back by 7th August — no extensions.
